Merly has been a Spanish-speaking client of Healthy Moms & Babes for over a year because she feels that program is one of the best she has ever seen.

She has two children, and visits the Healthy Moms & Babes van whenever she needs help and advice with her children.

We have been there to answer her questions, and we connected with her. We helped to educate her on pre-natal care, which she knew little about before she came to Healthy Moms & Babes.

Kim has been a client of Healthy Moms & Babes since April of 2006.

She did not know where to go to find support to help her through her pregnancy. Her sister had visited us, and recommended that Kim come visit us at the van.

We set Kim up with an outreach worker, who has become one of her biggest supporters. With assistance from her outreach worker, Kim was able to access help with DJFS (Department of Jobs and Family Services), apply for food stamps, and give birth to a healthy little boy.

Kim's outreach worker continues to visit, providing parenting education as well as teaching her fun, developmental learning activites for her son.

Clara is one of our teenage Spanish-speaking clients. She has two children, and is now pregnant with her third.

She came to Healthy Moms & Babes to confirm that she was pregnant with her second child, and has been coming to the van ever since.

She received a flyer at her apartment that led her to the Healthy Moms & Babes van. Clara feels it is so helpful to have the vans come to her neighborhood, because it makes it easy for Clara to seek our services.

Clara feels that Healthy Moms & Babes is like a family. She comes to the van when she is sad, or when she needs someone to talk to. She always leaves feeling comforted.
